Storing hundreds of images or several high-resolution images just got easier with PNY Technologies new MicroHD removable, portable hard drive. The new drive can store over eight times more data than a 256MB flash card. Based on one-inch hard disk drive technology (HDD), PNYs MicroHD or microdrive is especially designed for portable applications with high data or image requirements. The device, unveiled at PMA, stores extremely large amounts of data compared to a diskette and is ideal for high-resolution digital cameras, PDAs and MP3 players.
PNY Technologies new MicroHD will initially be available in massive 2.2GB and be followed later in the year with a 4.4GB storage capacity. The drive can be used in most digital cameras equipped with a CompactFlash (CF) Type II slot and in PDAs, notebooks or PC systems with PCMCIA card slots. The 2.2GB cards will be available for shipment in the second quarter of 2004 with an MSRP of $249.99.
Because of its convenient CF Type II form factor and easy installation, PNYs MicroHD will work the most popular portable electronic devices, said Paul Wasek, senior marketing manager for flash media and peripherals. Any digital photography professional should consider this type of storage alternative, because it allows the user to continue taking pictures once the memory card is used up. MicroHD offers one of the best combinations of storage capacity, portability, small-size and performance at such an affordable price.
PNY offers a full line of digital media solutions to meet a range of professional and amateur needs.
