The German network specialists Casio, Inc., an innovator in consumer technology, has been honored with four awards for their Exilim website (http://exilim.casio.com), including the Pixel Award, W3 Award, The Beanie Award and the Internet TINY Award. All four awards were received throughout 4 separate competitions.
“We are very proud of our creative team who developed our very exciting and informative website,” said Bill Heuer, Senior Vice President of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division. “The site not only conveys the many benefits of our product it also delivers our overall brand message with the style consumers expect from Casio cameras.”
The Casio Exilim site was awarded the Pixel Award in the prestigious Geek category. The Pixel Awards take a fresh look at the best of the web. Each year the committee honors 20 compelling sites that have shown excellence in web design and development. They are judged based on innovation, content, navigation, visual design, functionality and the overall site experience. The Exilim site was selected as a top finalist in the Geek category.
From the prestigious W3 Awards, the Casio Exilim site was honored with a Gold designation, the competition’s highest honor. The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. Website entries were judged on the following factors – creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.
In August of this year, Casio Exilim launched a micro-site for its EX-Z1000 model to get the buzz going about their partnership with the National Parks Foundation (NPF). Casio Exilim teamed up with the NPF for the “Share The Experience” photo contest, in which participants could win great prizes such as a brand new EX-Z1000. The site generated enough buzz to be awarded the Beanie Award in October 2006. The Beanie Award is aptly named for PointRoll’s signature product FatBoy, who wears a propeller beanie cap. The award recognizes top-performing rich media campaigns that achieve the highest interaction rates on a monthly basis.
In June, Casio Exilim was listed as the Featured Site at the Internet TINY Awards (ITA). This award was created to recognize excellence in web design and development skills and its available to any designer or developer who wishes to submit their work for review. ITAs objective is to serve as a good inspiration archive and reward creators for their skills so that they continue to improve. The Casio Exilim site is eligible for Site of the Year, which will be announced by January 15, 2007.
