Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. ("Toshiba") announced today its full solution line of DVD products for 2007. Toshiba's extensive and innovative line offers consumers high-quality, easy-to-use products in trendy new designs.

Continuing its support for High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) by expanding this feature in more models, Toshiba has integrated 1080p upconversion for near high definition video quality in several key models. Additionally, in accordance with the federal tuner mandate, Toshiba is now offering select tunerless DVD recorders to help bridge the gap between digital and analog.
DVD Recorders
This year, the full line of DVD recorders offers HDMI with upconversion capabilities. All of the models in the line are DivX Home Theater Certified, and for ultimate recording flexibility, the line also offers recording and playback of DVD-R and DVD-RW in addition to DVD+R and DVD+RW media.
Toshiba's entry level D-R400 single deck DVD recorder offers HDMI with upconversion to 720p, 1080i and 1080p. It also offers one touch recording and a DV input. The step-up model, the D-R550, adds ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuners.
The top of the line Toshiba D-VR650 Super Multi Drive DVD recorder + VCR combination unit offers ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuners and HDMI with upconversion to 720p and 1080i. In addition to recording and playback of DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW, this model also offers recording and playback of DVD-RAM. The D-VR650 features Toshiba's high quality DVD recorder capabilities and a 4 Head Hi-Fi VCR capable of high speed bi-directional dubbing. For added flexibility and convenience to consumers, Toshiba will also offer the D-VR600 which includes the same features as the D-VR650 without the tuners.
Portable DVD
With value and price point in mind, Toshiba has introduced a premium line-up of portable DVD players with larger screen sizes and extended battery life. Measured from 7" to 10.2" diagonally, the line will offer new sleek and sophisticated designs.
Toshiba's top of the line SD-P2900 offers a large 10.2" diagonally measured, widescreen LCD screen. With a high resolution display of 800 x 480 pixels, the SD-2900 offers premium picture quality for consumers on the move. For the frequent traveler, it will offer approximately six hours of battery life in addition to a 4-in-1 (SD, MMC, MS and xD) Memory Card slot. This model also features Digital Cinema Progressive scan with ColorStream Proฎ component video output making it ideal for the road or the home. The player is also DivX Home Theater Certified and comes with a car cord adapter.
Toshiba also offers the SD-P1750 player featuring a 7" diagonally measured widescreen LCD screen with approximately three hours of battery life. The SD-P1750 has a high end cosmetic design, comes with a car cord adapter and offers dual headphone outputs. Rounding-up the line is the SD-P1900 offering a 9" diagonally measured, widescreen LCD screen and a smooth, new black acrylic top. The SD-P1900 will offer approximately five hours of battery life, DivX compatibility, dual headphone outputs and a car cord adapter.
DVD Players
Enhancing the consumer's HDTV viewing experience with upconversion capabilities and DivX compatibility, Toshiba will offer a line-up of three single deck DVD players. Toshiba is introducing the SD-6000 that will give consumers near high-definition quality with upconversion to 720p, 1080i and 1080p via HDMI. This player also offers digital cinema progressive scan, ColorStream Pro component video output, and DivX, WMA, MP3 and JPEG playback.
The SD-5000 offers HDMI upconversion to 720p and 1080i, digital cinema progressive scan, ColorStream Pro component video output, and DivX, WMA, MP3 and JPEG playback. The player also features a black acrylic front panel with silver trim design. Rounding-up the line is the SD-4000 which offers digital cinema progressive scan, ColorStream Pro component video output, and DivX, WMA, MP3 and JPEG playback. All three players offer 40mm super-slim chassis design and offer DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW playback.
DVD/VCR Combination
With a focus on convenience and affordability, Toshiba is offering the new tunerless SD-V295 combination unit featuring one-touch recording. The player is DivX Home Theater Certified, features Digital Cinema Progressive Scan with ColorStreamฎ Component Video Output, offers MP3, WMA and JPEG playback and is DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R and CD-RW compatible.

A HDTV or HD Monitor with an HDCP capable HDMI or DVI input is required for video upconversion. To upconvert to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p resolution, a 720p, 1080i, or 1080p capable HDTV or HD Monitor (as applicable) is required.
Some DVD-R/DVD-RW and CD-R/CD-RW discs may be incompatible due to laser pick up and disc design. CD-R/CD-RW discs must be recorded using CD-DA method for CD audio playback. Products may not support some MP3/WMA/JPEG/DivX recordings due to differences in recording formats, disc structure, or condition of the disc (use of CD-RW for MP3 files is not recommended).
