The following are close-up images of the macally IceKey USB Slim keyboard.
Beautifully Plain, Elegantly Simple
Regular vs. USB Slim
The following is a comparison between what a normal keyboard looks like compared to the macally USB Slim.
As you can readily see, the macally USB Slim has much lower height factor than a typical keyboard. Also, notice how there is basially zero key extrusion from the board itself.
Firm Keyboard Support Pads
You probably have noticed this yourself but didn't understand why. Your keyboard's support pads tend to move around over time and the sticky goo gets all over the underneath. Eventually, the support pad falls off due to repositioning it over and over again. The problem, is that some manufacturers do not make a high enough border for the pad to be firmly in place and not move around. Notice the following image, and how the keyboard support pad tends move out of its place.
And now the macally USB Slim:
The macally USB Slim has a much higher border surrounding the support pad, preventing "travel". In fact, if you look at the close-up image below, you can already observe the support pad traveling to the upper-right side. It is being prevented from doing so, by the frame around it.
