Eddie Tapp and Software Cinema have created a Photoshop CS2 package which features two DVDs. Even though Photoshop CS3 is currently available, these CS2 DVDs still provide a large amount of tutorials which are mostly compatible with CS3, and span almost seven hours of content. Few own CS3 because it is so new, and if you still have CS2, then this 2-DVD set will provide a massive assortment of photo techniques which range from workflow to final editing. Eddie's expertise is on par with other experts, having more than 20 years experience in the computer industry and digital imaging sectors. A Photoshop CS2 Goldmine

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Pro Techniques I & II is Photoshop goldmine. A massive amount of information is included on the two DVDs. The first DVD covers your worklow production and controlling digital color. Sounds easy, but it's certainly not if you've done any amount of editing images. How do you keep your images consistent in color? With today's digital cameras, you could have a collection of images numbering over 10,000, and obtaining color consistency would be unthinkable. However, you have Eddie Tapp to give you some great pointers.

The second DVD deals with more advanced techniques. You probably won't be using these creative techniques in all of your images, but the ones you cherish the most and want to make an impression on your viewers will definitely benefit from these not-so-ordinary applications. A once-considered "dull" image can be transformed into a masterpiece with Eddie Tapps particular ways of using Photoshop's advanced capabilities.

Pros

  • A generous amount of information
  • Eddie Tapp is one of the best tutorial narrators I've listened to
  • Intermediate techniques for the rising Adobe user but also advanced content for the serious Photoshop CS enthusiast
Cons
  • None observed
Observations
  • Appears to not play in modern "home multimedia" DVD players--only PC-based DVD players
Adobe Photoshop CS2 Pro Techniques I & II is indeed a goldmine. After watching the first DVD by Eddie Tapp, I welcomed his style rather quickly. He's one of my favorites for instructing Photoshop skills. This two-DVD set is really a nice way to jumpstart your Photoshop knowledge or add another great installment to your Software Cinema collection. Either way, these DVDs will be great resources and even though you'll watch the DVDs once, I guarantee watching them again will reveal more intuitive ways of handling your workflow and images.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLUS

This is another awesome Photoshop tutorial, produced by Software Cinema. This time around, I was exceptionally intrigued by the many example images Eddie Tapp provided. His images are some of the best I've seen and having them in a tutorial makes the learning process more exciting and the tutorials are remembered longer when not watched for an extended period of time.

Being a fortunate man, Eddie Tapp is the director of the Institute of Visual Arts in Maui, Hawaii. He enjoys the life of imaging and what it can do for the common photographer who wants to improve their skills.
